!! <- See how excited I am!!! In two weeks I will be in WPPI heaven. Not only am I taking Master Classes from some of my very favorite photographers (Jose Villa, Alycia Alvarez, and Nicole Van Valkenburgh) I will also be attending some amazing Platform Classes as well (Jasmine Star, Audrey Woulard, Brianna Graham, and Elizabeth Messina)! Seriously, this is like Photographers Heaven. I’m excited to see all of the amazing trade show booths, meet some new people, and hang out with my sister. We will be staying at the MGM on Tuesday night to get a [really] early start for our Wednesday class.

Once again a HUGE thank you to my fabulous and utterly fantastic husband for supporting my dream and taking time away from work to stay home with the twinzies while I play the days away. I <3 you!

!!!!!! <- This excitement is for the Shoot Shop I'm taking with the Masters of the Universe, Nate and Jaclyn from The Image is Found. They will be hosting two Shoot Shops March 5th and 6th and are looking for two Couples to Model for them. Head over to their blog to read the details.

And last but not least a few more photos from my super fun session with Bethany and Paul!

Ok, so I may have exaggerated just a bit with the title. These two are not engaged…..yet. As my daughter Shenzie would say, “pretty soon”. Not that I’m in the know how or anything, but seriously, you can’t be this in love and not have big plans for the future.

Meet Bethany and Paul, the winners from my Couples Giveaway this month. Bethany and I go way back to when we used to work together at a bank while going to college on the side. I think we may have even had Macro Econ together (which I failed the first time around due to the 8am start time that I just couldn’t make). =) She is one of the sweetest and kind hearted people I know. I am, by nature a bubbly, happy, [loud laughing] person and love to surround myself with happy and positive people. Paul and Bethany fit the bill perfectly. We laughed and laughed and played and talked and even though I got attacked by cacti I had the best time!!!

Bethany and Paul’s love story is pretty awesome and shows you how great the internet can be. They went to high school together, were friends, maybe even had a slight crush on one another, but never got together. Fast forward 20+ years, living in different states, doing their own thing and WHAM! Facebook connects them and this time it is the real deal. Tru Wuv (ha, can you tell we just watched The Princess Bride). =)

This next one is Paul’s handiwork. While I was off getting eaten by cacti he snapped a few photos, pretty good work!! Of course with a subject as beautiful as this how could you possibly get a bad shot.

They had a hard time keeping a straight face since we were mostly just laughing the day away but you’d never know it from these next shot. Beautiful right?!?

Thank you so much Bethany and Paul for an awesome day and fabulous photos!! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two, I know it is going to be great!

Thank you all for your comments! I wish I could choose all of you for a free session, but of course that just isn’t possible.

So the winner as drawn by Shenzie is…………………….

BETHANY SCHILDER!!!

Congratulations Bethany! I can’t wait to see you and meet Paul. I will be in touch shortly to set the date and choose a location.

In honor of all of you love birds I am running the following special thru February 28th.

As most of you know I generally photograph children, and of course I LOVE it - but there are a few exciting changes in the works this year. I recently announced in my newsletter (to sign up see left sidebar) that I also have a few weddings booked this year!!! I am excited, nervous, overjoyed, and every other emotion all at once! To get a little practice of the non children’s variety I enlisted the help of my beautiful friend P and her awesome husband C.

[sigh::I LOVE this shot]

Not only are they flat out gorgeous, they are such kind, sweet, people and I love them to death! I am calling this an engagement session just because I want to, but in reality they are blissfully married and as you can see still very much in love.

P asked me if some couples don’t come off as loving or in love, and of course, the answer is yes. My husband and I are a prime example. We are very much in love, as lovey dovey as they come, but get him in front of a camera and he just freezes! I had no such trouble with C and I couldn’t have asked for better models to play with.

I had such a great time and I didn’t have to run, sing Elmo, or jangle my keys even one time! P and C are only in the states for a short time and will soon head back to Spain (can we say JEALOUS) where they are doing mission work. I was lucky enough to catch them on a break between California and Hawaii. The jet setting couple!

Thank you SO much P and C for the practice, I had a blast and I will miss you!

*Just a reminder the free couples mini session ends Sunday - get to entering!!!

Smooch Edition:

I always have a favorite photo from each session. It was a toss up with this session.

I LOVE this photo as well. The passion, love, romance, and love, and love, and passion. Did I mention love and passion?

I’m telling you, I love so many photos I had to break it up into separate posts. Photographing adults, (with no children around) is SO much different than chasing toddlers around or trying to sneak a photo of Mom and Dad with kids running underfoot. I’m not big on posing people. I like my photos to feel natural and “un”posey. I figure if you want the posey posey shots you can go to Kiddie Pictures and get them done. I like to capture real life moments that really show off the little ones personalities. However, photographing adults you are at times forced to pose them to get certain shots. What I loved about this session was while some were posed they don’t have a forced pose look to them and D and J really were perfect in front of the camera. Relaxed, fun, playful, and silly.

Here are a few more of my favorites:

Re-creating the proposal. Awwwwww, so sweet.

I love this photo. You can really feel the love they share.

Mo0chas Smo0chas!

Heartbreak Hotel.

Awww. Pre Wedding Love. So sweet and innocent.

Give it a couple of years and this is how they’ll look:

Haha. Just kidding. I’ve been married for six years next month and I still feel the love and passion with my hubby (although sometimes he does make me want to strangle him). =)

*And once more check back tomorrow for my two very favorite photographs from D and J’s session.

My sister and I had our first Engagement Session last weekend. We both agree we couldn’t have had a more perfect couple to photograph. They were beautiful (and handsome), fun, funny, and open to all of our experimenting. I really had a hard time narrowing down what photos to pick so be prepared for photo overload.

Sorry men, this one is taken!!

Her ring was so beautiful!!

And even though I know these shoes were not comfortable, she totally rocked them!

Thanks D and J for such a fun session!! I hope you love your photos!

*Check back tomorrow for more of D and J’s engagement photos!!!
