!! <- See how excited I am!!! In two weeks I will be in WPPI heaven. Not only am I taking Master Classes from some of my very favorite photographers (Jose Villa, Alycia Alvarez, and Nicole Van Valkenburgh) I will also be attending some amazing Platform Classes as well (Jasmine Star, Audrey Woulard, Brianna Graham, and Elizabeth Messina)! Seriously, this is like Photographers Heaven. I’m excited to see all of the amazing trade show booths, meet some new people, and hang out with my sister. We will be staying at the MGM on Tuesday night to get a [really] early start for our Wednesday class.

Once again a HUGE thank you to my fabulous and utterly fantastic husband for supporting my dream and taking time away from work to stay home with the twinzies while I play the days away. I <3 you!

!!!!!! <- This excitement is for the Shoot Shop I'm taking with the Masters of the Universe, Nate and Jaclyn from The Image is Found. They will be hosting two Shoot Shops March 5th and 6th and are looking for two Couples to Model for them. Head over to their blog to read the details.

has begun. Oh my! Where in the world does the time go. Some days feel SO long (especially when the twinzies are in crazy mode), but the weeks and months just keep speeding by at a pace that, at times, is a bit too fast. Don’t kill me for saying it, but my Christmas shopping is 95% done. I have a few last minute gifts for a Secret Santa and a few odds and ends, but other than that I am done!!! Now I know not everybody is crazy like me and started shopping months ago, so if you’re looking for last minute gift ideas I have the perfect gift for you!!!

Now husbands/significant others, listen up. I know you don’t really like to have your picture taken and I know you are uncomfortable with me and my camera all up in your face, but guess what?!?!!? but SUPER excited for March to get here. Every year I contemplate going to WPPI and then for some reason or other (namely two reasons, Shenzie and Heaten) I don’t end up going. This year however I bit the bullet and registered. A couple of days before registration opened I called my sister Kristy to see if she was in. She was a go so not only are we going to WPPI! we also registered for three Master Classes with the pros!!! We will be spending 2 hours each with Jose Villa, Nicole Van Valkenburgh, and Alycia Alvarez!!!! Holy smokes, talk about awesome! Not to mention all of the fabulous Platform Classes including one of my favorites, Jasmine Star!

As you can see I am quite jazzed about this event. =) Jeff will be taking some vacation days in order for me to go - HUGE THANK YOU to my fabulous and wonderful husband for being so supportive and fantabulous!

My brain is bursting with excitement already about the entire shebang and you would think it couldn’t get any better right? That’s what I thought too until my brain burst with too much happy. Nate and Jaclyn from the Image is Found are hosting a workshop while they are at WPPI and guess who is going?!?!?!!? Yep, me (and Kristy)!!!!! For over a year now I have been wanting to attend one of their workshops, but for many reasons have not. Not only are they AMAZING, they seem so fun and laid back that I know it will be fabulous and wonderful! Yippee Skippy!!!! Yeah Boi!!!! Hurrah Hurray!!!!

*Jump Jump Jump* And just igore how completely dorky I look…oh, and the fact I’m TOTALLY out of focus. Can you tell I don’t take many self portraits. =)

New Logo Edition:

When Jeff and I created my website (ok, in reality my part was more telling him what to do and less on the actual creation side) we came up with my current logo. It was never anything permanent, just something to use until I got a new one made. I am getting ready to do a HUGE website update and make some changes so I thought now would be a great time to get a real logo. I contacted an awesome graphic designer (Thank You Jen, you Rock!) and got the ball rolling. In the future I plan on [possibly] doing weddings so I wanted something a little less “kiddish” and more grown up. She sent over 6 fabulous designs that were right up the alley of what I told her I wanted, but I just didn’t LOVE any of them. They didn’t jump out at me and they didn’t really feel like me. Then I saw a tree on Shenzie’s shirt (yes, crazy place for inspiration), and that was that. While I thought I wanted something more grown up it turns out I like the playful, colorful, kiddish stuff more so here it is….my fabulous new logo!!

There are so many things I love about it. The colors of course are the ones I hand picked for my website and even though Jeff doesn’t really like them I love them. I wanted something organic, nature-ie, and fun. I know birds are all the rage right now, but I found the BEST stationary that matched my site perfectly and they had a little bird on them so I had her add a small cutout bird that can be changed later if desired. Now I just need to get all of the changes ready and over to my wonderful husband so he can update the site. I plan on having everything live by January 1st so I better get hopping!!!

Just a few business related notes:

¤ I am now booking into January. I have a few spots left so if you’re wanting photos with me in January don’t wait to book your session. As of January 1st some of my packages and pricing will change. Any session booked before then will get the current rates.

¤ Referral Program. Just a reminder to my clients that any referrals you send my way will earn you a $25 print credit upon completion of their session. There is no limit to print credits earned so refer away. =)

¤ If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter (on the left sidebar) hop to it and sign it already- what are you waiting for!?! As soon as the dust settles from my crazy holiday schedule and we make it thru Christmas, my birthday, and the New Year I have some giveaways planned and some promotions in the works. Those signed up for my newsletter will get first dibs so hop to it and sign it already. =)

¤ I set aside some time in December to completely update my Website and change a few things around. I’m excited for the changes, but dreading the work. Lucky for me I’m married to the best web designer/software engineer around so I can make as many changes as I want (and trust me, there are PLENTY) and he can’t fire me. =)

When I saw this image I just had to edit it right away. It makes me smile and I LOVE it. Too bad they aren’t my kidlings, this would be a HUGE canvas on my wall!!! More to come from the awesome (and gorgeous) J Family.
