There are challenges unique to each age of photographing babies/children. Trying to get the newborn to sleep. Trying to get the pre-sitter to stay on their belly. Trying to get the crawler to sit for 2 seconds. Once they start walking, forget about it. From the time kids learn to walk until they are old enough to be bribed is one of the most difficult ages. Difficult or not I love it! I love chasing the kids around. At this age they express exactly what they are feeling whether it is happy, sad, or very angry. You have to work hard to get the photos, but when you do it is well worth it.

Mama Lisa warned me that little D was a handful and never sits still. Of course I waved her off. What two year old does sit still? Mine certainly don’t, thats for sure. Little did I know she was NOT exaggerating in the least. Little D was Mr. Speedy!!!

Poor Mama is about ready to give birth to her (she’ll probably kill me for saying) FIFTH child. Remember Beautiful Girl Ashley from the post below? That is her oldest daughter. All I can say is WOW! Lisa looks amazing!! But man oh man, she must be exhausted chasing lively D around.

He was such a sweet little boy. Running around laughing:

Until he saw the camera and that was that. He wanted nothing to do with it or me from that point on.

Lucky for me he is adorable even when serious!!

*Check back later this week for more of Beautiful {tired} Mama this week.

ANTM Edition:

I admit, I love America’s Next Top Model. Well, I love the show, I don’t love T.yra Banks. She is getting more and more annoying as each season passes, but I’ll suck it up because I love the show so much. I said before that my Photo Session with Ashley reminded me of ANTM and I wasn’t exaggerating. She was such a natural I am going to be spoiled for life!!

As promised I’m back with more photos of Ashley. I had such a hard time choosing which photos to post because I love them all so much!

The funny story of the day was the crazies we encountered at our session (outside of the drive by stalkers). A nice middle aged normal looking couple on their moped. That doesn’t sound too crazy right? A nice normal couple out for a mid day cruise….looking to score some drugs. Apparently any drugs would have done - they went through the list of what they would accept. Too bad for them we are good girls and couldn’t hook them up. =)

This wall was so awesome - the entire thing covered in the most amazing street art (and spider webs which made me scream like a little sissy).

Ashley, thanks again for a wonderful session. Your gallery will be done very soon!!

All I can say is WoW! I’ve known Ashley since she was 8, but haven’t seen her in awhile. When I saw her again my jaw dropped to the ground. Isn’t she stunning!!

She is graduating from Arbor View High School soon and can’t wait! She already has plans to become a paramedic and starts classes this week.

This was one of my favorite sessions!! Ashley is super sweet, beautiful, smart, and she was such a natural in front of the camera, I felt like we were part of America’s Next Top Model. =)

We went to the artsy fartsy part of town - which isn’t in the greatest area. I brought my pepper spray just in case, and good thing! She had stalker men driving by over and over and over yelling from the car how beautiful she was. Her little sister who joined us on the shoot was our “watch out for weirdos” pepper spray holder.

I don’t remember looking like this when I was in high school!! And would you believe her little sister is only 14! Mama, you better watch out!!

Ashley - I loved our session - I had so much fun. I hope you LOVE your photos!!

*Check back tomorrow for a few more of my favorites!!

Easter Edition:

The babies had a grand old time this Easter. We spent the afternoon at Grandma’s with the whole family. Much, much fun was had!! They loved finding the eggs and of course Shenzie, my little candy monster opened them all up and started shoving the candy into her mouth as fast as she could before I could take it away.

*Sorry for being a cheater and posting the exact same thing on the babies site. It has been a very crazy week trying to get my new computer up and running and being forced to upgrade my CS3 to CS4. Hopefully next week will have things back to running smoothly at the old Casa de Barr.

No Cheese Edition:

One of the things I love best about photographing children is capturing their personality in the photo. I am not big on “CHEESE”. Those usually get me something like this:

Two seconds later I pretended to “get her” and got the real Shenzie Bear smile:

And of course I can’t leave out my Heaten Bear and his adorableness:

*This post is a little late due to the MANY viruses attacking my computer. Boooo. Good thing my wonderful husband surprised me with a new one for our six year anniversary yesterday!!
