Diptych Edition:

I first heard about/saw Diptychs on Shutter Sisters (if you’ve never visited their website go now, you will LOVE it!). Anyhow, I thought the idea was neat, but never gave it a try until now. So here is my very first diptych of my Heaten Bear:

There is an entire community on Flickr/Diptych if you are interested in seeing more. Looking through the Diptych Flickr pool really got me inspired so you can be sure you will be seeing more diptychs around here!!

Lovely Lashes Edition:

Why is it that boys get the longest, darkest, most beautiful eye lashes? Heaten is no exception…his blue eyes melt my heart, and I only wish I had his lashes!!!

And not to be left out Miss Shenzie Weather with her lovely lashes.

Strangely enough one of the kids (I guess at almost two and a half I have to stop calling them the babies) favorite things to do is play at the mailboxes. They love to open and shut the big boxes and hide rocks and sticks in there for the mailman. Sorry mailman!! The other day while mailbox playing I snapped a few shots of my oh so adorably cute big KIDS!!

Happy Hearts Day Edition:

This is one of my favorite cloud captures. Photo taken in 2005 with my very first point and shoot digital 3 megapixel camera.

Our good friends just had their baby boy a few weeks ago and I got the honor of doing his newborn photos. He is so, so, so cute I wanted to eat him up!!!

Of course he didn’t want to fall asleep, but after much cuddles and milk he finally gave in and slept for a few minutes.

How cute are his shoes!! A boy after my own heart. We <3 converse.

The sweetest part is his older sister saw those shoes and bought them for her baby brother with her own money. With three older sisters this little boy is sure to be spoiled rotten!!!

My sister “photographer in training” went with me and got some super cute photos. You can see them here.

Hood River Vacation Photo Session:

I recently visited one of my oldest friends (not old as in OLD, old as in we’ve been friends for 20 years….which I suppose does make us OLD!!). While I was there I got the chance to photograph her adorable boys in beautiful Oregon. We went down to the river (Columbia Gorge River? Hood River? something like that). We sent Julie packing and played the afternoon away.

The boys are super affectionate and loving. None of these photos were “staged love”, but the real deal. So sweet and heart warming.

And even though she’ll kill me for posting this she is too beautiful to hide.
